Why Our Work Matters
This week brought several developments in Minnesota that raised concerns about free speech, peaceful assembly, and the right to hold government accountable. Reports from Human Rights Watch and recent indictments of constitutional observers have raised questions about how fear and broad conspiracy charges may affect people’s willingness to speak out, protest, or observe government actions. Protecting constitutional rights requires clear proof of individual actions, not guilt by association. That’s why HopTonka Democracy Defense continues working to protect the right to vote and strengthen our community.
